For those unfamiliar with Jewell triggers, they are considered by the cognoscenti of rifle shooting to be the very finest made. Nothing is spared in their construction; heat treated 440 stainless steel for internals, 330 stainless for the side plates and all internal parts are stainless. The complete high grade stainless steel construction means very little potential for any corrosion.
The optional factory type safety and bolt release (made from 4130 sheet
stainless) function "better than the original". Also offered is a safety
that sits inside the trigger bow for those so inclined. Jewell simply
recommends a spritz of lighter fluid to flush any crud from the module (if
it should get dirty) after each barrel cleaning.

The Jewell Trigger, covered by 17 claims in
Patent No. 4671005, the unique geometry was designed to allow minimum load
at the sear engagement point and to provide maximum adjustability in pull
force, sear engagement, and overtravel without removing the action from the
stock or the trigger from the action.
The internal parts are 3/16" 440C stainless steel, heat treated and tempered
throughout to 58 Rockwell C scale. The side plates are .050" aircraft grade
300 series stainless sheet steel. All hardware, including through pins,
main spring, spacers, and screws are stainless steel.
A few great features of the Jewell Trigger include (1) modular design
allowing total disassembly for maintenance and cleaning. (2) The forward
mounting spacer and a pin in the firing pin stop that operates in a hole in
the left side plate allows the trigger to stay together as a single assembly
when not installed. (3) The light load at the sear enables short, crisp,
creep-free, and repeatable operation.
